These vibrant\, com munity-driven gatherings bring families together to share\, swap\, and cel ebrate the joy of play\, while making a real difference for the planet.                                                                   Volunteering at these events is more than just len ding a hand\; it’s an opportunity to be part of something meaningful\, s ocial\, and impactful.\n\nBe Part of a Positive Community\nVolunteering co nnects you with like-minded\, passionate people in your local area and acr oss Ireland. Whether you’re helping at check-in\, guiding families throu gh the swap\, or supporting activity stations\, you’ll meet friendly fac es and build genuine connections. It’s a welcoming\, inclusive environme nt where everyone shares a common goal: creating a better\, more sustainab le future for families.\n\nSupport a Powerful Cause\nThe Toy Library is Ir eland’s first circular economy platform for toys\, helping keep pre-love d toys in use and out of landfill. By volunteering\, you play a direct rol e in making sustainability accessible and enjoyable for families. You’ll help create moments where children discover “new” toys and parents ex perience the ease and joy of sustainable living.\n\nMake a Real\, Visible Impact\nAt every event\, you can see the difference you’re making. From organising toy swap areas to assisting with our various stations\, your co ntribution helps create a smooth\, joyful experience for attendees. Each S wap&\;Play concludes with a social impact report where volunteers can s ee in real numbers the tangible impact of the day! Each toy rehomed is one less item going to landfill\, and you’re part of that impact.\n\nFeel S upported Every Step of the Way\nWe make sure you feel confident and prepar ed before the event even begins. Volunteers are supported by an Event Mana ger who will guide you through everything you need to know. You’ll be ad ded to a dedicated WhatsApp group for easy communication with the full vol unteer team\, making it simple to stay informed and connected.\n\nBefore t he event\, you’ll also be invited to a short volunteer Zoom call. This i s a great chance to meet the Event Manager\, a member of The Toy Library t eam\, and your fellow volunteers. You’ll learn more about the event\, ge t clarity on your role\, and have the opportunity to ask any questions\, s o you arrive feeling ready\, comfortable\, and part of the team.\n\nExperi ence the Energy of a Live Event\nEach Swap&\;Play event is a lively\, w ell-organised experience. Volunteers are involved in:\n\n Setup (30 mins - 1 hour before): Preparing stations\, organising toys\, and getting every thing ready for families to arrive.\n Live Event (anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on event style): Volunteers will be assigned a role before the event\, supporting check-in\, check-out\, toy check\, managing the toy swa p area\, assisting activity stations like Eco Crafting\, the Teddy Bear Hu b\, or the Eco tattoo station.\n Clean-Up (30mins - 1 hour after): Packin g up\, sorting toys\, and leaving the venue tidy.\n\nThis hands-on involve ment gives you a full behind-the-scenes experience of a successful communi ty event.\n\nGrow Your Skills and Confidence\nVolunteering offers practica l experience in teamwork\, event coordination\, communication\, interperso nal skills\, and problem-solving.
