Convert is a female-led organisation; pieces are created by Hannah McMahon in Co. Monaghan.
Products include accessories for relaxation and yoga, such as weighted eye pillows, tote bags, headbands and eye masks—also items for the home, including upcycled Christmas decorations.
Each contains reclaimed, upcycled, damaged and otherwise unloved fabric and fibre to reduce the environmental impact of unwanted textiles. In Ireland alone, on average, each person disposes of 35KG of textiles annually.
The proportion of reclaimed content in each piece is stated on the label alongside information on what the textile was in a past life, so customers can make an informed purchase decision.
Sustainable energy is used in production, as a solar PV array was recently installed.
All packaging and labelling is recycled, biodegradable or recyclable, sometimes all three!
