Join us for the first Big Vegan Hike + Picnic hosted by Our Earthy Collective
Happening just around the Summer Solstice, this gathering feels like the perfect way to welcome the brighter, longer days, with nature, good food, and good people 🌿
After many beautiful hikes, picnics, café gatherings and connections through The Earthy Marketplace community, we’re so excited to continue this much-loved series under a new home with Our Earthy Collective.
Our Earthy Collective is a community-led space built around shared values, connection, sustainability, and collective action. It’s an online gathering place to discover, share, connect, and take action together, grounded here in Ireland and created for people who care about the planet, community, and creating positive change.
These days, it can often feel like we’re all caring quietly in our own little corners, scrolling endlessly, worrying about the world, and craving more meaningful connections. Our Earthy Collective exists to bring people back together again. To turn shared concern into shared action, and remind us that even small actions feel more powerful when done collectively 🧡
And that’s exactly what these hikes are all about.
For this special summer gathering, we’ll explore a stunning 9km trail near Laragh, Co. Wicklow, beginning at Brockagh Lane Car Park (near the school), and following part of the Wicklow Way through peaceful woodlands and scenic mountain views.
We’ll hike through the beautiful Coill na Luise native woodland reserve, meaning “wood of the rowan”, a reforested site cared for by the Native Woodland Trust. Overlooking Annamoe, this peaceful reserve is home to young oak and Scots pine trees grown from locally collected seeds 🌲
Expect lovely conversations, fresh air, beautiful scenery, and a welcoming group of like-minded people.
After the hike, we’ll gather for a relaxed vegan picnic & potluck in nature. Bring along your favourite vegan dish, snack, or dessert to share, homemade or shop-bought, sweet or savoury, all welcome 🥗✨
Whether you’re vegan or just veg-curious, coming solo, or joining with friends, you are so very welcome!

⛰️ Difficulty: Moderate – expect some uphill sections and uneven terrain, suitable for anyone with a basic level of fitness

Donations
Donation: €10
After fees, 50% of donations will go towards planting native Irish trees with our tree-planting partners Reforest Nation.
The remaining 50% will go towards supporting and growing Our Earthy Collective, helping us continue creating meaningful community gatherings, resources, and spaces that bring people together around sustainability, connection, and collective action.

Getting There
Laragh is accessible by car and limited public transport from Dublin and the surrounding areas. We recommend arranging lifts where possible, and attendees are welcome to coordinate carpooling through the WhatsApp group.
Free Parking is available at the Brockagh car park near the trail start.

We’ll be staying overnight in Glendalough International Youth Hostel
The Lodge, Glendalough, Co. Wicklow, Laragh, Ireland. 21st – 22nd June.
